Kathryn focuses on communication challenges and barriers to employment and social inclusion. She strongly believes in not hiding or being afraid of disability.

About Kathryn

Kathryn began her involvement with Speakers Bank as a volunteer supporting other speakers. She quickly realised she had a strong interest in becoming a speaker herself. This led to opportunities to speak to the community about her experience of intellectual disability. She also became a regular host of the Speakers Bank podcast alongside Storm Robbins and Nathan Slachter.

Kathryn speaks candidly about her lived experience. She focuses on communication challenges and barriers to employment and social inclusion. She strongly believes in not hiding or being afraid of disability.

Kathryn has a Certificate III in Child Care and is involved in many activities in the community, including singing in her church choir and playing the violin in the Newport Bush Orchestra. She also enjoys craft and walks with her border collie, Lily.
