Congratulations to Speakers Bank participant, Rocca Salcedo, on receiving the Minister’s award for outstanding leadership at this year’s DHHS Victorian Disability Awards!
One year after arriving from Colombia to pursue her studies in International Law at Melbourne University, Rocca became paraplegic following a pedestrian accident. Now, Rocca is being recognised for her outstanding efforts in enhancing the lives of people with disabilities through her 2019 initiative, Dance & Roll.
Dance & Roll is Victoria’s first para-dance club that encourages people with physical disabilities to dance, enjoy music and be physically active. Check out Rocca’s feature on 9News Australia yesterday here.
She is also an unpaid Ambassador for VicHealth’s campaign This Girl Can – the first woman in a wheelchair to be included. Congratulations on your exciting achievements, Rocca!
